The walk is divided into four main sections, which you pass through in succession to reach the sea: the town, then the start of the countryside with the Céréreide district, the area around Lez with its hedgerows and horses, and finally the wild area of ponds where the cathedral dominates the peaceful Maguelonne half-island. After passing through the seaside resort of Palavas, you will continue along the Lez river, passing close to the tracks of the now defunct Palavas narrow-gauge railway.
